The Parksmart Rating System

The International Parking & Mobility Institute · IPMI boost sustainable mobility by developing the Parksmart tool.

Existing projects, completed & commissioned more than two years prior to registration, are eligible to achieve Pioneer Certification by earning > 15 points in each of the 3 main Parksmart Categories and reaching > 90 points

New Construction projects, completed & commissioned within two years of registration, are eligible to achieve Bronze, Silver or Gold Certification by earning > 20 points in each of the 3 main Parksmart Categories and reaching:

• Bronze: 110-134 points

• Silver: 135-159 points

• Gold: 160+ points

Points are awarded to parking structures by pursuing Parskmart Credits in 3 main Categories + Innovation:

A) Management

B) Programs

C) Technology Structure Design

D) Innovation

All Parksmart Strategies are third-party verified by GBCI through documentation during a combined review.

How smart is your Parking facility?

Parksmart offers a range of significant benefits:

• Optimise energy efficiency, and improve lighting & ventilation quality, e.g., perform an Energy Simulation.

For Parking facilities of all types including Commercial, Retail, Education, Municipal, Healthcare, Hospitality… Projects can be standalone, or a part of a mixed-use building. Any New Development or Existing multi-level structure that stores vehicles is eligible.

Tiaki guides you through the entire Parksmart Certification process, the starting point is to enrol in our Positive Impact Assessment: Asset Screening journey.

Key Steps:

1) Find out your starting point with a Pre-Assessment.

2) Register your project with the GBCI at Arc Platform, and pay the Certification fee: $1,500 per building.

3) Follow Tiaki’s Roadmap to meet the Parskmart criteria: co-develop your Strategy with our Parksmart Advisors.

4) Submit your Parksmart documentation for GBCI review, and pay the Certification fee: $5,500 for Existing projects and $6,500 for New Construction projects.
